Windows cannot execute SndVol32.exe

There is no sound.How to detect reason and fix it: Windows cannot execute SndVol32.exe
Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the volume control program has not been installed or removed. On Device Manager Sound,Video and game controllers set:
Audio codecs
Legasy Audio Drivers
Legasy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
Realtek AC97 Audio
Video Codecs
Could someone help me with solving the problem

Either :

* put in your XP CD, but don't let it fire up. Then Start > Run > type in msconfig then^press enter or click OK > Extract File > in first box type in sndvol32.exe > in 2nd box point to your XP CD > in 3rd box type in c:\windows\system32 (seeuming your XP is installed at c:\windows) > then extract the file, overwriting if necessary.

Or :

open up WIndows Explorer > Tools > File Options > Display > make sure Show all hidden fiels and folders (or similar text) is ticked > then Apply > OK > navigate to this folder c:\windows\system32\dllcache and locate the file sndvol32.exe > Copy > Paste into the c:\windows\system32 folder, overwriting if necessary > re-boot.

You should now have your sound mixer back. If still no sound, re-install your audio drivers.

Hi,

1. Did you make any software changes in the computer recently?

Refer to the steps listed in method 2 in the article below.
Volume icon is not displayed in the notification area, and you may receive an error message when you try to add it
