Where do I locate a 'Disk Error Checking Tool'

I received an error when I tried to us MS Backup that the backup did not complete successfully, but it did not give me an error like shown on the threads (0x81000002).  It just stated that there was a corrupted file and that I should use a 'Disk Error Checking Tool'.  My question is, where do I find this?  I am running Vista, service pack 2.  Appreciate any assistance you can offer.

Answer
just run a chkdsk from the command prompt

Start>Run>CMD

Chkdsk /f

Type "Y" and press enter when it says it can't do it now because the drive is in use. Then restart your computer and it will check your disk and attempt to fix any errors.
