Easy Transfer Won't connect from XP PC to Windows 7 PC

I am trying to use easy transfer to get all my stuff from my old XP PC to my new windows 7 PC. Everytime I try it I get a box on the old xp pc  that says trying to connect and that's it. I tried 4 times.
I can see my and access my windows 7 pc from my xp pc but for some reason easy transfer can't. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using downloading Windows Easy Transfer for the XP PC from the internet or are you having the Windows 7 PC create the program for the XP PC? I've seen that having the Windows 7 PC create the WET can sometimes resolve these network issues.

Also, ensure that any firewalls or antiviruses you have installed are disabled.
