1. Is your computer connected to a domain?
2. Does the issue occur when you attempt to install other software/drivers as well?
3. What is the name and model number of the printer?
I would suggest you to check whether the Windows Installer Service is running in Services.msc window.
a. Click On start; In the Start search, type "Services.msc" and Hit Enter.
b. Right click on Windows Installer and click on Start (Only if the Service has stopped).
Restart the computer and try to installing the driver.
