does windows 10 updating while gaming online ?

This is a windows 10 issue, has absolutely nothing to do with xbox 

Does  windows 10 pauses downloading updates when a game is running? yes or no?

does windows 10 updating while gaming online ? i searched but could not find an answer. I already switched off the peer to peer updates and changed updates to notify. but it sometime feels like i'm getting more lag at times compared to win 8 on the same game servers?

Does anyone know for sure that win 10 pauses downloading when a game is running?

windows updates will run during the maintenance window which defaults to 2:30AM

it can be changed if that is a bad time for you

Cheers for the reply Hardcore, But  most people  dont leave their  pc on all night. If i turn on my pc and start netfix or online gaming and there  is an update  due, will it start downloading  while  i'm trying to play or stream ? just  so i know win 10 isnt suitable  for gamers and i can go back to win 7 or 8

I play games on Windows 10, for the most part its ok

So i take it that this is going to just be ignored by microsoft?

So is  microsoft  going to answer this or not? not everyone has high end broadband to be able to game/ stream and download updates at the same time.

Windows uses the same old background intelligent transfer service to get updates

if you are using a cellular connection, you can make this labeled as metered and updates will not use it and wait till you have a wifi or other connection that is not metered

the updates will install during the maintenance window

Does windows 10 update during gaming etc or not?

People keep saying that win10 downloads at 2:30(default)  but no one will answer if it updates if my pc is not turned on at 2:30am and does it wait till I turn on  my pc the next day ie, 7pm and then start downloading updates while i'm trying to game because i did not leave my pc on all night?

And cellular settings dont work if you connect by usb, ethernet etc for bandwidth, only over wireless?
