Hi,
We appreciate you for being part of Windows 10.
This issue may arise if you are using Standard calculator.
Try the below steps:
Open the Calculator through Start menu.
Once you open, click on menu button (Three horizontal lines at top left corner).
Select Scientific calculator.
Now type 1+2*3, it will give the answer as 7.
Note: There will be different way of operations integrated into Standard and Scientific calculators.
Hope the above information helps. Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows. We are glad to assist you.
Thank you.

Thank you Kiran.
I know about Scientific calculator and I am using it, but the standard order of operations is the standard regardless of a calculator type. I think this is a bug and it should be fixed.

Here is a question that is not totally applied to your issue but I thought I would give it a try. I had Windows 7 and did the Windows 10 upgrade. All was going fine. Then about 8 days into using 10 I went to use the Calculator was GONE. That that was the box that said calculator and then when I clicked on it I was told to go to the "Store". Did that and still can not find how to get the APP to my Laptop. So does anyone have any ideas of help. I also wonder why I can get the blue area that states "App Download". I click there and nothing appens. Also that could be why I can not get the calculator so any ideas" Thanks for letting me in with this question.
Jason

Hi,
Thank you for keeping us updated on the issue and apologies for late response.
You may want to create a new user account to test if the same happens as this could be due to current user profile corruption as well.
Press Windows key + R to open RUN box
Type control userpasswords2 and press OK
Under User Account window and under Users tab, click Add tab
Under How will this person sign-in windows, click the option at the bottom Sign in without a Microsoft account (not recommended)
On the next window click Local Account at the bottom
Choose a user name (use password if you want to or you can leave the password section blank as it is just to test)
Click Next and then click Finish
As you click Finish, the previous User Accounts window remains on the screen
Select newly created user and click Properties
Click Group Membership tab
Click to select Administrator and click Other and select Administrator from drop-down menu
Click Apply and then click OK
Hope this helps.

I know this post was from a while ago, but are there any plans to fix the calculator?
Telling people to switch to the scientific mode if they want a calculator that can do math correctly is a ridiculous response.

Then, Why this mode which doesn't follow standard is called STANDARD mode??
It should be renamed to Simple mode or something. Unless, It is a bug.
