Hi Dayne,

Thank you for being part of Microsoft Community.

Perform the steps mentioned below and see if it helps.

a: Press Windows key + X.

b: Then click Command Prompt(Admin)

c: Now type the following command and hit enter

Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Remove-AppxPackage

Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage

After a restart (signing out and back in didn't work for me) I entered the following command (again in a powershell in admin):

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

This will install any missing built-in apps you may have uninstalled.

Do get back to us for any issues pertaining in the future. We will be happy to help.

Hello, the first one did not work, and the second one said Access Denied.

Any other advise?

Thank you.

These commands must be run from power shell, not command prompt and the restoration step requires 'run as administrator' due to the processing of app packages for all user accounts.

If i type any of that i get a reply.

'Get-AppxPackage' is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file.

So now what?

Same here.

Although I tried on my Dads administrator account and it worked fine... So I guess you have to use it as a administrator.. :(

So I typed in

Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Remove-AppxPackage
Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage

and now i have no xbox1 app or windows store app on start menu or anywhere i can find.

So then I typed in

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

and got

Add-AppxPackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CF6, Package could not be registered.
error 0x80070002: While processing the request, the system failed to register the windows.MRT extension due to the
following error: The system cannot find the file specified.
