Skype Insider Preview // Release Notes for Skype 8.66.76.49

The latest Insider build 8.66 is out. We have one major feature improvement for you, plus a couple of important fixes.

What's New?  

  • Up to 100 participants in the call! We have increased the limit for group calls from 50 to 100 participants!

What’s fixed?

  • The language settings automatically changed to English.
  • Favorite contacts disappeared from contact list on Windows.
  • Signing out was freezing the app on Android.
  • Uploading/downloading files on Android was not fully working.

The new features are rolling out gradually over the next couple of days so if you don’t see them right away, just check again soon!   

Please let us know what you think about the latest changes, either here in the community or through the Skype app. And you can always go to Skype’s User Voice to submit and vote for new features and ideas.

Are you aware that the Store-fed Insider version is still marooned on 8.64, last being updated in early September?

This is not the first time that's happened. Sometimes the Store-fed Insider version goes on holiday. It's unclear to me why it can't stay as updated as the non-Store version (which you're right, is 8.66), especially these days when they're 99% identical.

Please allow moderators to mute all and prevent unmuting without permission, the way a host can do it in Zoom. It's hard to imagine up to a 100 on a call where dozens want to speak at the same time, especially students. It also would be a great alternative to Facebook Live, allowing people to watch a livestream but prevent other audio inputs

We have increased the limit for group calls from 50 to 100 participants!, mode, the large gallery is up to 100 participants?
how many people is the large gallery unlocked? 10? -12? people ?
