Create a search folder filtered on an email address or domain

I understand your concern and will I assist you with this issue.

Let's create new Search Folders with one of the following criteria's and verify the result.

Right click on the Search Folders >New Search Folder > Custom > Create a custom Search Folder > OK > provide a Name to the search folder > Criteria.

a) In the From field add the domain name with quotes as mentioned in the following example, "@microsoft.com" > OK > OK > OK and verify the result. 

b) In the Search for the word(s) field enter the name of the domain with quotes like "Microsoft" > click on the In drop down option and select subject field and message body > OK > OK > OK and verify the result

Note: First create the search folder following steps mentioned in a). If it doesn't fetch result as expected then proceed with b).

I have followed steps a) and b) and neither yields the correct results: a) finds emails only where the display name contained "@domain.com" and b) finds only the emails where the subject or body contains the string.

I'm trying to filter by an email address, which would seem a reasonable request.  If I specify an email address in the from/to fields it does not find entries where the display name did not contain the email address string e.g. 'john.doe' is the display name.

Given the effort that I've put into researching a solution it would appear that Outlook does not support this - which is actually quite an amazing statement, unless you can advise otherwise.

Hi folks

I too have a similar problem but what I find intriguing is that when I apply the advanced filter to find for example "Microsoft.com" in the "FROM" field in my Online archive the system returns the correct results but when I apply the same filter to find current emails in my active Inbox it doesn't work.

I can't imagine why and I have scoured all settings, options and anything that might make the system search the full email address.

Looking forward to an answer but I guess we aren't going to get one at this late stage given it is almost 6 months since you initially asked for help.
