You need to do a license transfer http://www.xbox.com/drm in order to make the content 'belong' to your new console.

Once this is done your wife should then be able to play the games on her profile again. If she is still unable to do so after the license transfer, set the games to download again. This wont download the whole item, as it is still on your hard drive, all that will happen is the license will be refreshed.

This is easy goto www.xbox.com/drm and do a drm transfer using your account and all profiles on the new console can use the content otherwise you must be signed into live at all times this prevents piracy

@Juandogs, one other thing it doesn't mention in the instructions at the link you were sent.  You must recover your gamertag to the new console in order to complete the transfer process and make the console yours.  Just be aware that because your gamerscore is so high it will probably take about an hour for the recover process to complete.

That's because it isn't necessary onyx62is. I just moved my profile across with a USB stick and have had no problems with playing content offline or with other profiles after the license transfer.

@voteDC, when I got a new system I had to do that.  I moved mine over with a usb stick as well.  The problem with doing that is if you choose to add a download from the website, it attributes the download to the old system unless you recover your account to the new system.

Essentially set something to download from the site, go to Active Downloads on the console and select Download All Items. That makes that console the default for future downloads.

It's useful to know but is actually nothing to do with the licenses.

I had done that originally but all downloads from the site had to be manually started when I went to the xbox.  After calling support here in Canada that's what they had me do and it fixed the problem.  Maybe mine was a unique case.
