Lakeview Manor feels like a frat house sometimes

The first file I had with Hearthfire, Lakeview was my home, and the other two locations became outposts for my character to operate from. One was an alchemical center, and the other a battle outpost.

LOL and that is why on my last play through I made sure to buy the property for Heljarchen but did not get thaned. It is the one place I can go in all of Skyrim to be alone without some wiseguy asking if I plan to make trouble. I never marry, adopt or hire underlings. I put Lydia in charge of Lakeview and she won't even pick up the stuff on the floor. Valdimar up at Windsted lets giants hangout and didn't even come watch when I killed a dragon there. I guess I'm a serious loner. At least I can be alone in Severin Manor if I don't mind the corpses upstairs or the seriously creepy music.

Back Lot, I do not have any helpful suggestions whatsoever, I just had to say that is the funniest thing I've read on here in awhile. Laughing with you bro.

I keep my wife (Lydia) and kids at Proudspire, the kids are usually running the streets while mom is mostly sitting in the kitchen with a tankard or two. Lydia isn't exactly a soccer mom, but God help the miscreant who messes with our kids while I'm out wenching and whoring..j/k ... I hardly ever do that.

@ Geddy... Proudspire is the place I left.  Seemed like a swanky neighborhood, but I don't recommend letting your kids hang with those urchins.  They play with dead bodies I leave behind.  Seriously, I saw one of them sitting on dead cultist, kind of petting the hair.  I knew then I had to move :)

I have to ask:  Rush fan?  If so, your street cred just shot up, bro!

Petting the hair!? Gads! I might have to rethink my choice of cities. Proudspire is built in the swankier part of Skyrim for sure... Just in case, here's a SPOILER ALERT highlight below to read;

....  but if you do the Dark Brotherhood quest line you get to murder your swankiest neighbor.. and loot all her stuff... the stuffiness factor goes down a bit. : ) Still, the Blue Palace is nearby, so there is only so much you can do to slum the place up.

Yes, I've been a fan of Rush for many years. This will date me as I'm sure you know when this occurred. My first concert ever was Rush during the "Permanent Waves" tour, my ticket cost $9:50 back then, I still have it somewhere. Musically and lyrically they just resonated in my soul, to this very day. In fact I'm listening to "Hold Your Fire" as I type. How about you sir? It is always good to meet another fan.

The way everybody behaves around the dead is kind of creepy. I've seen guards clustered around them in great concern and when Alvor got fried by a dragon then stuck on the bridge I kept seeing Gerdur petting him. Of course her husband is a layabout who never goes to work but really is he worse than a corpse? Sigrid was fried too or I suppose she would have been out there too.

Absolutely...I've been a big Rush fan since I was a kid.  I kind of stopped following them in recent years, but I still really respect them as a band.  I have a friend in Toronto who is a monster fan.  Still goes to every show they put on.

Lady B, when Alvor got himself cooked in my game I reloaded the previous save and resurrected him. Dorthe ran to him, then just stood there staring at his corpse... I had to extend that compassion to her. I guess I'm softee at heart. An odd thing was there was a chicken right there too, it was still alive!? I was hungry too, I would have mashed some taters and had supper if that stupid dragon would have only cooked that apparent indestructible chicken for me!

Yes, that dragon attack took both Alvor and Sigrid plus the dog. I pulled Sigrid into the river and she eventually disappeared but it took me forever to dislodge Alvor so he could go join her. I didn't have any convenient saves but ever after that I always fast travel to the standing stones or Anise's cabin rather than Riverwood. I think chickens are indestructible though my only bunny slaughter in hundreds of hours was an accidental frying while fighting a dragon.

None of this stuff ever happens to me.... Both of my adopted kids have the same voice as well. Is that odd?
