Xbox stuck in update mode, can't install update from disc.

My xbox won't  go to dashboard, it just is stuck at this screen. I recently had repairs done to it and we missed a lot of updates.

The Update is on the CD when I turn the console on It says:

"System update"

"Applying update"

And the bar won't move and then it displays

"System Update stopped"

"Can't read Update from disc"

"22FB-335A-B800-0F00-C000-0013"

And then it will just stay on that screen and won't continue to the dashboard.

There are no memory cards or USBs plugged in, just the cd in the drive. I have tried it on a USB too, but that isn't working either. Any ideas?

This may or may not work but try holding in the sync button on your console and then power the console on keeping the sync button held in.

The update could not be downloaded from Xbox LIVE. Try the following:

  1. Try installing the update again.
  2. If you’re having problems connecting or staying connected to Xbox LIVE, see Xbox LIVE connection problems.

Note You can also update your console software by copying the update to a USB flash drive or a disc and then applying it to the console. See Troubleshoot console software update problems.

Those are the solutions offered for the error code you're seeing, could you try those please.

Now I'm getting "22FB-335A-B800-0F00-C000-0059" but I don't see that on the code list.

I tried it with a CD. I don't have the option to do via xBox live because I can't get to the dashboard at all. Its just a plain black screen with the message that I provided above.

What repair was done to your console and was it my MS?

If it was a drive repair by someone other then MS then this error is common due to them fitting the wrong drive.

Which dash update are you trying?

From the code you give you need the 13146 dash update on cd or usb, it won't work if you try the newest dash update

Where can I get that update?

I'm not sure what the repair was, or if it was done by MS, the Xbox was just given to me from a friend, I was going to give a shot at trying to fix it.

I was thinking that was the problem, that I would need a previous update since it has been sitting around for so long.

I'm not 100% sure that I can post a link to old updates that are on other sites but if you just do a quick bing search then you should find it no problem, just treat it like you would any other update and you should be fine, once that's done you will be able to update to the latest dash no problem after

Just so you know how to update once you have got the dash update have a read of this

1.) Unrar the download (if its rar'ed)

2.) Copy the $SystemUpdate folder to the

root of a CD or USB Stick (The memory

stick must be FAT or Fat32 formatted)

3.) Insert the CD or USB Stick into your

Xbox 360 console.

4.) You will be automatically prompted to

update with a USB stick, with a CD / DVD it

should say Mixed Media Disc, power down

the 360 and power it on again. You should

be ask to update before the 360 boots to

the dashboard.

5.) Once the update is complete your Xbox

360 will restart then boot up to the new

dashboard. Enjoy!
