Lightning Strikes + Xbox = Connection Problem. Please Help!

Well recently lightning struck VERY close to my house while my xbox was on. Now normally you are probably thinking: HAHA RRoD. But no my xbox works just dandy except for the fact it now doesn't recognize the ethernet cable connected to it in the back. I've tried everything, bridging connections with my laptop, which is wireless, reseting my router many times, and each time, nothing. So I would love you if you could take a few minutes, help me out, and hopefully save me 300$. Thanks alot!

 

If it helps this was after the May 19th update. 

Also, my xbox is the old xbox. Not the new slim.

Hey. I have the same problem, but my xbox has been off for the entire storm. Elsewhere, the internet works fine.

This happened to me with my last Xbox. I ended up having to get a new one since the warranty was overdue on my last. Your ethernet port is fried, from the sound of it. Exact thing happened to me before. It also shocked me when the lightning hit while my headset was on.

 

Either send it in for repairs, or get a new 360. Those are really the only two options you have now.

Sadly, I  have realized this, the other thing is, it fried my TV too. All the colors on my TV are wrong..*** this..

I'm afraid its all too common during the storm seasons in the US. Lots of Xbox Ethernet adapters get taken out.
