Freezing or RRoD

I turn on my xbox and it will show the xbox and microsoft logo than freeze and it wont go any further and i stopped trying and let it sit over night and it still wont work... HELP

So it never gets past the splash screen? Have you tried booting up the console with your HDD removed?

I have the same problem with my (classic) console. Green logo starts spinning, and it freezes. Started happening after an update back in February, doing it once a week for a while, then once or twice a day, however a reboot worked at the time. Now nothing works. Freezes every time I turn on the console. Spent a lot of time on the phone troubleshooting (already did everything suggested several times, HDD on/off, new HDD, etc), only to have them tell me I'd need to pay $150 to have it repaired. I could get a new one for slightly more than that... :@(

Alternatively, you can set up a repair here, which costs around $99.

For twice that you could have a new, better version. But that's just the problem. It happened AFTER a Microsoft update. Worked perfectly before then. Obviously a software, and/or hardware issue. Meaning not my problem to pay for. Should be fixed or replaced for free.
