Device Manager gives Error Code 37 when I try to open CD ROM &DVD drives. How can I correct this?

My C ROM and DVD drives don't appear on "My Computer".  In Device Manager It says it cannot access the driver.  I tried to update drivers but can't install as it says the drives are not installed.  The only changes I have made to the computer was to add a new mouse a couple of days ago.  It is a USB  so I removed the old line mouse.  Could I have done something to cause the other drives to have problems?

Hi,

1. What is the make and the model number of the CD DVD drive?

Refer to the article below for error code 37:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123

I would ask you to reinstall  the drivers for the CD DVD drive from the manufacturer's website and check.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards,
