Original title: Can't install WMP11, rollup 2 update.

I'm still on WMP 10 for some reason and I wanted to connect my PC with 360 to stream videos. I downloaded the update but it was telling me to go get the rollup update 2 or something, so I attempted to install that and it told me I needed to go get .NET framework 1.1 and .NET framework 1.1 SP1. I went to download those and install them, but it's telling me that "the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program".

I've googled it, tried all sorts, uninstalled SP3 and tried it and nothing.

Hi xelliotx,

I'd suggest you follow these steps.

Step 1:

First, download and install .Net Framework Cleanup Tool to remove selected versions of the .NET Framework from your computer.

Step 2:

Manually install the below Microsoft .NET Framework versions:

Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=262d25e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3&displaylang=en

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a8f5654f-088e-40b2-bbdb-a83353618b38&displaylang=en

Once this installation is complete, attempt to install other required software and check.
