Intel pro 5100 agn wifi driver problem with windows 8

I have a Dell Studio XPS laptop, I upgraded to Windows 8 PRO from Windows Vista in January 2013. After working fine for almost 1 and a half month the wifi (Intel Pro 5100 AGN) has stopped working. I have tried each and every corrective measure but still the wifi is not able to pick any wifi network.

Answer

BiswajitGupta,

From the article on Intel's website...

Intel® Centrino® Wi-Fi Products — Which operating systems are supported with Intel wireless products?

The Intel® WiFi Link 5100 adapter is not supported with Windows 8.

I'm not sure if you use Vista(or Windows 7) drivers in the Vista SP2 (or Windows 7) Compatibility mode will work or not.
