Error Code: 0x8007010B (Can't install SP1)

I've tried all solutions suggested here and in every place mentioning this error (0x8007010B) I have found on the net but nothing has worked so far.

I would like to know whether you would be so kind to help me to resolve this problem by providing you with my Windowsupdate.log, as I would have to format my computer otherwise.

1- i made a clean install of win7
2- i had 2, at the beggining avg, thinking it might bring trouble, i changed it for AVAST, in both cases with bad results
have no spyware soft at all
3- have no norton or mcafee app

Is KB947821 listed in Installed Updates (not Update History)?


I have tried using one antivirus at a time (avg and AVAST), I have tried unistalling the antivirus and I have tried what you suggested here, System Update Readness, but nothing has worked so far.
Would it be useful if I sent you Windowsupdate log or cbs log or something else? What should I do? Thank you.

Thank you for your post.  Try the steps below and let us know the results of each utility.

1. Depending on your Windows 7 architecture, download / install and run the System Update Readiness Tool - CheckSur You can download the tool from the links below in accordance with your system type.

Download the System Update Readiness Tool (64bit)

Download the System Update Readiness Tool (32bit)

2. Click Start type cmd (you should see the command prompt populate at the top) Right-click it and select Run as Administrator

Inside the prompt type sfc /scannow

*For more information regarding the System File Checker.

*If corruption is found, see How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7.

3. Once the SFC is complete, Check your hard drive for errors.

4. Run the System Update Readiness Tool again. If the errors have been cleared, try installing Service Pack 1 again. If not, move to step 5.

5. Perform a Startup Repair, upon startup, try installing the Service Pack.
