No drives were found when attempting OS install, unable to find OS when trying to repair

I'm using a XPS420 Dell computer with windows 7.
When I start my comp. it goes to the "Start Windows" screen and doesn't go any further. When I use my installation disc and F8 it goes to the "Advanced Boot Option" screen. If I choose "safe mode w/ networking" it goes to the "install windows" screen. Then the choose  language etc. screen then it asks where I want to install windows. There is no where to install it as the box is empty. It says "no drives were found, click load driver to provide  a mass storage drive for installation." The "load driver" box comes up and it says, "To install the device driver needed to access your hard drive, insert the installation media containing  the driver files and the click OK". Am I supposed to insert the driver installation disc that came with my computer? When I do that it still says there are no drivers. I've tried to use "Repair Computer" and it doesn't show any operating system.
HELP what is the problem here and what can I do to fix it?? Please please help.

Answer

Hi,

1.       Were there any changes made in the Computer prior to this issue?

2.        Which version of the Windows operating system are you using?

3.       Was the computer working fine before this issue?

4.       On which drive Operating System was installed on your computer?

I would suggest you to try the methods mentioned below using the Operating System disk and check if it helps:

Method 1:  Let us run the Startup repair again at this stage, it might fix the issue.

Refer to the following articles for additional help on startup repair.

Method 2: We can try the Last Known Good Configuration option and verify if it helps in resolving the issue.

Hope this information is helpful.
