Today, for the first time when I started Windows 7 Starter it took awhile to load and I was on the 'Please Wait' and 'Welcome' screen for much longer than normal. It booted with Windows XP Mode on, and an error message:
Failed to connect to a windows service
Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Server service. This problem prevents standard users from logging on the system, As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the server didn't respond.
Clicking the notification, however did not send me to a log.
I force-shut down it and booted it in safe mode, didn't work. Then, normally two more times and nothing worked.
I have an Windows Aero button in my control panel, I do not know why, because I'm running Windows 7 Starter, a version that does not include Aero or Windows XP Mode. Please help and I will give more information if needed. Please help as much as you can.
