Full Syetem image failed error (0x8078011D) WIN 7 64 bit

Remember - This is a public forum so never post private information such as email or phone numbers!

Ideas:

·    I can not create a full system image

·    (0x8078011D)

·    I had a restore system failure, so i had to reinstall my system. However, instead I install 32 bit, I chose to install Windows 64 bit. since I installed 64 bit, I am not able to make a full system image, which was function able with windows 32

·    I read through the answer in the boards.

·    I reformatted my HDD and ex HDD

·    reconvert the HDD and ex HDD USB to ntfs

·    scanned the registry for invalid key or wrong path

Full image system back is one of useful feature in windows 7, so I am hoping that I can get the correct answer for my problem.

My laptop is Dell xps 1330

250 GB

RAM 3 GB

Hi

This might be because of bad sector on the drive. Run chkdsk on the drive and check if it helps:

a.    Click on start

b.    Type cmd in start search box.

c.    Right click on cmd.exe in the Program list and then select the option Run as administrator.

d.    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.

e.    In the command prompt window, type the following command and press enter Chkdsk /R X:

Note: In this command, X: is a placeholder that represents the drive letter of the volume that you want to check.

f.     Press Y when you are prompted to check the disk the next time that the system restarts.

g.    Close all applications, and then restart the computer.

Hi,

Run System file check on your computer to check if any system files are corrupt. You may refer the below link for steps: How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

First  of all, sorry about my poor english Language. I had the same problem.

The point was the boot was in System partition. To use System Image Creation tool, Boot and System must be in the same partition, normally C:/

How I fix it? (You'll need a Windows DVD or similar to help boot again)

Go to My PC, click right, Administrate, then Disc Administrator.

Right click on C:/ and Mark as Active.

Reboot from Windows DVD (otherwise System could not boot) and choose  Repair, Advanced Repair, then select boot repair option which will create a new boot in C

When restarting, eject DVD to load System normaly.

Now you can create your System Image.
