How to setup an E-Mail account on windows 7?

I have just purchased a windows7 and am trying to set up my established e-mail account, had windows XP before, can you assist.

Hi,

Windows 7 does not come with a default email client.

However, you can install an email program-Windows Live Mail (If you don’t have any other email client on your computer) —a free program that is part of Windows Live Essentials. Windows Live Mail works with most email accounts.
