DllUnregisterServer failed with error code 0x80040200 when tried to unregister cdo32.dll

Original title: DllUnregisterServer failed with error code 0x80040200

Does anyone know how to research/correct this problem? I encountered this error:

DllUnregisterServer failed with error code 0x80040200

when I executed the following command at the command prompt:

      regsvr32  /u  cdo32.dll

The path was c:\Windows\System32

Answer

Hi Frank,

Did you try running the command prompt in elevated mode (administrator mode) to try unregistering the DLL file?

If not, then try running the command prompt in administrator mode and check if you’re able to unregister the file successfully.

Run Command prompt in elevated mode

a.     Click on Start; in the start search type cmd.

b.     Right click on cmd.exe and choose to run as administrator.

c.     regsvr32  /u  cdo32.dll

d.     Check if it gets unregistered successfully or not.

Hope this information is helpful and let me know if you need any further assistance.
