Hello Roger,
Thank you for choosing Microsoft Forum.
  1. What were recent changes made on the computer prior to issue?
  2. Are you able to connect to other Bluetooth devices to laptop?

I would suggest you to install drivers by installing windows updates.

If the issue still persists, you may check for an updated driver from the manufacturer and install the latest version. Refer to the below mentioned link for guidance –

Yes I have (2) wireless printers that work just fine.
I have contacted JBL and they say there are no drivers for the Bluetooth JBL charge.
My computer cannot find the JBL charge even when it is in pair mode.
I can plug it into the speaker jack and it works but no bluetooth.
JBL works fine with my Cell phone, I have a Gateway NV57H57u windows 7 PC.
I have changed and changed Bluetooth configs... I don't get it.
Thanks for helping.

Hi, this may be old, but it applies for JBL Charge 2 as well. It does not work via Bluetooth. Search the compatibility page in JBL, it is only for phones and stuff. However, it has a very handy 3.5mm audio jack, which you can connect to your PC like any other speaker. For Android/iOS devices, it works marvelously.

Regards,

Mario

Intel released a new driver (Sept 2015) for

Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165
Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7265
Intel® Wireless-N 7265

This finally fixed my persistent problem that could not be fixed by all other methods described above and in numerous other threads.

I could pair, but I couldn't assign the wifi speaker as a playback device.

good luck

I've got a similar problem.  Have you solved yours?

Similarly my Dell Inspiron 1512 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium seems so to have the Bluetooth software but not the hardware, so I too had to go out and buy a dongle.

I got it set up but not without difficulty but nevertheless it's working fine.  I can pair my Kitsound headphones, Sony Z5 smartphone and a Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet no bother.

I recently bought a JBL Charge 3.  This pairs easily with the phone and the tablet and works fantastically.

The Charge 3 lists in Devices & Printers but not in Output Devices.  It actually states that there no drivers have been installed at all and because of this the Update Drivers button is greyed out.

I contacted JBL who concluded that I have to approach the manufacturer of my computer.  Trying to to contact Dell is never easy so I'm not looking forward to that!

Have you had any progress?

Not helpful if you want to run it wirelessly as intended.

If I wanted wired speakers, I could have stuck with I already have and not gone out and spent £150!

Plus the fact that the intention of this type of speaker is that you can run them remotely and move the speaker to the optimum position not to have it tethered to the computer.

Which speaker are you referring to?

There are no orange flashing lights on my device and what are you saying in 3?
