I had a Live account and later created a Hotmail account (which I rarely if ever used!). I have a Microsoft ID.
My main email provided is BT (UK) and due to problems they've created by replacing their BTYahoo mail with BT mail, I need to get away to regain my sanity.
When I was migrated to the new BT mail, I created an new account - this has a 'cryptic' name as my old, traditional ID (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) was attracting too much spam/phishing.
I went to my Outlook account, added both old and new BT addresses and imported my mail.
But what I desperately want to do is to set up *** Email address is removed for privacy *** ID. I will then import my BT emails and begin the huge job of telling everyone that I have a new email address. I will then also have to change my email address on about 70 sites on which I have an account/Log-in ID. After this I will monitor the BT In boxes to check who's still emailing me there and sort that out.
So, to recap, I want to create a brand-new Outlook account as the starting point.
But when I go to https://outlook.com to start afresh via 'Start Up Now' it automatically takes me to my current, mixed-up Outlook account.
What should I do? I suppose I could close my Outlook account and then start over with a new name - is this the only route, please?
