Very slow indexing of outlook 2010

I am unable to perform a search in outlook 2010 (new symptom) When performing a search I get a message saying that outlook is indexing;  That message persistseven after 1 hour.  When opening the advanced tab under search options, I get a message saying that indexing is slow due to user activity.  I tried to repair office but it did nto help.

Try to rebuild the indexing and check if it helps.

Note: Indexing usually takes sometime depending on the number files on the machine. Once the rebuilding process starts try not to use other programs.
