There appears to be some bug in either outlook or icloud that affects contacts and views.
After installing icloud panel to allow my outlook information to sync to my iphone and ipads the custom views i created within the outlook application and use to filter and organize my contacts stopped working. The filter does execute correctly on contacts with no more than one assigned category. For contacts with more than 1 assigned category the filters ignore the contact and thus the view presents incomplete results.
If I disable the icloud panel ie log out, the folders and contacts residing under the icloud grouping move back to the original location under "my contacts" above and the views then execute fully and accurately. If I then re-enable the icloud, the contacts move back under the icloud grouping below and the views and filter stop functioning as described above. Looking at the categories assigned to the individual contacts, the categories are always viewable and present during each phase. It would appear that outlook is unable to properly execute a filter or see any categories assigned to contacts when contacts are under the icloud group and more than 1 category assigned to a contact.
The impact of this bug or limitation is significant and preclude use of categories for organization of contacts. Further i have software i use for labels and other function that depend on accurate execute of filters and views. Consequently to run this software i have to disable the icloud to perform such activities. Further I have found that repeated disabling and re-enabling of the icloud can trigger duplication of data within the freeform notes section of a contact. Cleaning up close to 1000 contacts is not fun.
Any solutions or workarounds would be appreciated
