cannot receive mail error -3259

From the problem description it looks like you are unable to send or receive emails using Entourage 2008. You get an error code -3259 when you try to do so.

It would also be better to mention what type of an account is configured in Entourage 2008, i.e. POP 3 / IMAP / Exchange Server?

The error -3259 generally comes up when you are using an Exchange Server configuration in Entourage 2008. You can check the section Error -3259 in the following article and see if it helps:

I am having this same problem and error code and it started out of the blue yesterday.  Both email accounts, different providers (Yahoo & GoDaddy)  I've done all the port changes, deleted files from the preferences account, unchecked "check addresses", deleted outbox emails and open and closed Entourage, shut down several times, tried sending from different ISPs and locations.  I even fired up my Mac Mail (Never use it since I have Entourage) and it sends fine through both accounts.  Only Entourage seems to be affected.  I receive fine, nothing will send, no matter what email address or account I use.  Also tried deleting and re-creating the accounts.  I feel like the problem has been narrowed down to Entourage since I can send fine, with the exact same settings in Mac Mail. 

Could Entourage have gotten corrupt somehow and is there something I can do to fix this?  I see programs on the web that claim they can fix Entourage problems. 

Please help.
