SFC /scannow fails to fix corrupt file(s)

I tried running sfc /scannow in an administrator-run cmd window but after the process finished, it said that it could not repair some corrupted files.  I used a program called SFCFix version 2.4.5.0 by niemiro to try and repair the rest of the files but one file was not able to be repaired and the program suggested I do it manually and seek help from a forum page such as this one.

Please help me manually repair my corrupted file.  The log file of SFCFix follows:

Hello,

Welcome to Microsoft Community. I will certainly help you with the issue that you are facing. I would like to ask you:

  • What were the issues that you are facing with the system for which you ran the SFC scan?
  • Are you using any third-party security software on your computer?

When such errors occur, usually reinstalling or doing a repair installation is the best choice of action. However, we can try to repair these files and check if it helps. To do so, refer to the steps below:

  1. Open the start screen and type "cmd"
  2. Right click on the command prompt and click on "Run as administrator".
  3. Type the following commands and hit enter after each.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Once you run these commands, restart the system and check.

You may also refer to,

Fix Windows corruption errors by using DISM or System Update Readiness tool

Hope this information was helpful. Do reply with the results once you have tried this step.

Thank you

Regards,
Sahil Bali

The issues that I was facing with the system for which I ran the SFC scan was the following error:

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.  Details are included in the CBS.log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.  For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.  Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios."

I've uploaded that CBS.log file here:

I'm using McAfee Security Suite provided by my ISP, Cox Communications.  I'm also using Ad-Aware Free Antivirus with Real-time protection.

I ran cmd as an administrator on my system and entered the following command:

"DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth"

And the process completed successfully.

In the same window, I entered the next command:

"DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth"

The process did not complete successfully and it notified me of Error 0x800f0906:

"The source files could not be downloaded.  Use the 'source' option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature.  For more information on specifying a source location, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077."

I have uploaded that DISM log file here:

Upon running the SFCFix exe again, I received the same above error (0x800f0906) with the same DISM log file as above.

I referred to both the go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077 link as suggested in the error above and the

"Fix Windows corruption errors by using DISM or System Update Readiness tool

that you suggested at the end of your post, but neither webiste was helpful.

Please advice what I should do next.  Thanks in advance for your prompt response(s).

Because you are receiving the "could not find source files" you need to mount a win 8 image and use this command

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:X:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess  Where "X" is the drive letter where the ISO is located.  Simply change the "X" to the correct drive letter

When you say mount a win 8 image, do you mean insert my windows 8 cd and then enter that command or something else?
