Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per the issue description you are getting entry point not found error message while installing and launching python 3.5. The issue could be if there is some compatibility issue or there is some system file corruption. It could also be if there is some display drivers corruption or need an update.

Try the steps provided below and see if it helps you to fix the issue.

Method 1

Try to install the application in compatibility mode and see if it helps you to fix the issue. For running the application in compatibility mode refer to the steps provided in the article mentioned below.

Make older programs run in this version of Windows

Method 2

There might be a chance that there is some system file corruption. So, I would suggest you to run SFC scan and see if it brings any difference.

System file check is a utility built into the Operating System that will check for system file corruption. The sfc /scannow command (System File Check) scans the integrity of all protected operating system files and replaces incorrect, corrupted, changed, or damaged versions with the correct versions where possible.

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows 7.

  • Go to Start, click All Programs and open Accessories.
  • Right click on Command Prompt in the Program list and then select Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click OK.
  • In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

                                                     sfc /scannow

For more information refer to this link:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

Method 3

If issue still persists, try to update the display drivers and see if it helps you to fix the issue. For updating drivers refer to the article mentioned below. A driver is software that allows your computer to communicate with hardware or devices. Without the correct driver, the hardware or device that you want to use won't work properly.

Hi Maduraipandian,

Thank you for the update on the issue.

I would suggest you to perform clean boot and disable security software temporarily then try to install the application and see if it helps you to install it as they might restrict it to get installed.

Step 1

Perform Clean Boot.

Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

Step 2

Disable anti-virus

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Disable-antivirus-software

NoteAntivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Step 3

Try to download and install the application.

Do keep us updated.

Ramesh Kumar.
