Vibrating noise coming from the fan? (Xbox Slim)

Having an issue with my Xbox 250GB, and wondering if someone could give me some advice.

Basically, whenever the Xbox is turned on, regardless of whether or not there is a disc in the tray, there is a low, vibrating noise that is very audible, coming from the fan. This can be stopped by either placing my arm across the top of the console and applying pressure, or by gently placing a piece of card thick enough to slide into one of the vents.

Only then it turns 'Whisper quiet' When the card is taken out, the vibrating sound comes straight back. I've also checked if it's the table it's sitting on making the racket, but it makes the same noise on the floor, so that can't be it.

Should I return it? I've only had it 4 days, so will be relatively easy to send back. Just wanted to know whether or not anyone else had run into this issue before. From reading up, it sounds like there may be a loose bearing of some sort, but that's nothing more than a guess..

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you should return it. It sounds like the magnets in the motor of the fan are breaking or the fins of the fan have rough edges due to possibly a dodgy batch of fans in manufacturing.
