pdanet

so who knows how to connect with pdanet?

Your probably not going to have a good connection using any cell phone powered hotspot, but it should be as simple as turning on the androids hotspot function, making sure to set the SSID to somthing you know belongs to you and type in a passphrase for that network. If you xbox has wireless then you should be able to see the hotspot in available networks.

No wireless on xbox or still can't get a connection? Try giving the adroids pdanet connection to a computer, then wire your console into your computer and set-up ICS or bridge the network connections.

Still can't get the xbox on it? It just might not work, alot of cell providers NAT the conenction before even sending the internets to your phone and they may even have a block on gameing consoles connecting via their network.

Best bet would be to get a "Broad band" connection and have some internets delivered to your home. Would be cheaper to have real internets, Speeds would be better, you'd have more control over how your connections acts and less likly to worry about data caps and throttling. Check your ISPs, ToU and AuP to see how many GBs per month your aloud to transfer. Most cell phone ISPs only give 5-10 GBs a month before charging you more or slowing your connection to a crawl which is slower then dial-up speeds. FYI, 1 HD movie streamed from Zune can be over 10 GBs just for the one movie.

KMKHUNTER....even though all your information here is generally thought to be true by all tech saavy people who haven't tried it themselves, it isn't completely true at all.  I have pdanet and use xbox live on a unlimited account which is becoming more commonly on a comeback with cell phone companies who are at least using 3g and most using 4g or LTE.  I regularly get speeds faster than broadband unless they have a premium package and tmobile's new tech coming out this and next year will be able of reaching speeds of 150Mb.  I currently get 22mb download and 2mb upload with a ping of 25-32ms on average with only two out of five bars connection.  The only problem is xbox and the way it connects to ports because it clashes with ports being asked to be used by apps on your cell phone and theres no way to open ports or forward them on pdanet or any of the other tethering 3rd party apps. But you can get around it by doing the trigger and bumper trick after checking the multiplayer network connection.  Hopefully xbox realizes that data is going to be accessed through all kinds of mediums and do more to make their device accessible to the consumer and his or her different ways of accessing the internet and xbox live.  Xbox should step it up though because outside of America Playstation rules the market and they don't care about american companies lobbying for a monopoly on the american consumer.  You will see xbox trying to work out deals with BIG CABLE companies which will make it even harder to use xbox unless you use BIG CABLE's router or networking device.  The only reason xbox doesn't work well with hotspots is because of xbox port mapping which is archaic.  Every device I have bought in the last 3 years works wonders around xbox connecting to different networking systems.  They should ask amazon fire tv for advice on how to make a device.  The amazon fire tv kicks xbox *** in how it connects and how fast and easy it is to use, no networking knowledge required to operate which is something I can't say for xbox with it's constant NAT, UPNP, Port forwarding issues come accross by the millions of customers accros the world. It's absolutely ridiculous to see that from a device that cost half a thousand dollars.
