Call Xbox Support to see what the problem is and how did  10,000 Microsoft points ended up in your account.

Welcome to the miserable world of XboxLive's Hack Happy, Illustrious Hap-Hazard Network Security...

I just had $140 in live points bought on my credit card two days ago...I have been surfing these forums post incident and low and behold this seems to be an epic  problem. Customer Support 's method of handling these problems and finding solutions is in-efficient, unfair. They just don't seem to care...I hope you have better luck getting a refund than I did. At this point I'm wondering if I will ever get my money back, it seems that xbox live doesn't seem to care about the problem as obviously it is working in their favor.

Never pay for anything on live using your credit card, including your subscription. Ever! If you need anything, get a prepaid card first. Gone are the days when customer support wa helpful cause they wanted to retain people from going to PS3.

You may also want to call your bank to make them aware of what might happen. This way they can watch your account for anything else.

If you are seeing unauthorized charges on your credit/debit card(s) then you should make sure that you have not been compromised on any other websites that you have used it on. There are several other ways for someone to get a hold of your credit/debit information:

-you use an unsecure PC to shop online

-you bin your mail (credit statements) without shredding it first

-you shop online and that site was compromised

-your bank has been compromised (several years ago many banks 'lost' laptops containing customer information)

-you thought it would be a good idea if one of your friends/family members had that information in case they wanted to buy something

So until you know exactly how someone got a hold of your banking information I would hold off on placing blame on anyone. To the OP, contact support and have them start an Unauthorized Access Investigation at which time they will lock the account and payment instrument until it is complete, usually within 7-30 days. Before you get off the phone with support be sure both the account and payment instrument are locked.

I have just had the exact two emails for the same amounts. Very odd. I'm going to phone them soon.

I've just been sent an email saying 6000 points were purchased but when I checked they were bought in 50 bundles of 120 points and have disappeared showing a bill of £51 and some pence.... after a lifetime of security I've always found there are 100 dishonest people in an organisation for every one outside... if someone outside did hack my account (I don't even have an xbox just games for windows) then surely microsoft must know where those points went... they cannot just disappear.... unless the culprit exists within. Strange I've had no problems then I purchased a game that could not run on my pc and I sent an email with a polite complaint suggesting they warn people that games are not compatible with certain systems and lo and behold shortly after my account is targeted hmmmm....
