I get an error while trying to access privacy and online settings

Hi,

I am trying to change my xbox account to adult from child, but i cannot as when i click on the privacy and online settings link, i get this error: 

Uh oh... that shouldn't have happened. It appears you've found a glitch in the system.

I have tried deleting cookies and clearing the cache, but that does not seem to work.

Sign in to Xbox LIVE by using the account that you want to change.

Go to Settings, and then select Account.

Select Promote Child Account.

When this kind of thing happens, I just wait a few hours and try again. If that doesn't work, I'd contact an xbox official about it.

xYEMx, i do not get the option, but when i tried buying a game earlier i got that i was not old enough, which i am.

Hey, I have the same problem. I want to change my online security options, but it asks me to enter the information for the parent account, which I no longer know. Is there a way to promote my account to an adult account, since I'm already 22 and this is a bit annoying. I tried to retrieve at least the emailaddress used for the parent account, but not even that would work, since the steps (steps">support.xbox.com/.../forgot-microsoft-account) described in the support page work for me. Is there any other way?

Hey there  JulyViscera!  Were you the original account holder for that Adult Account?  If so, you can try recovering it over here: https://account.live.com/acsr

I too am getting this error. I am 16 years old and am trying to talk to others in Grand Theft Auto IV on PC yet I can't since I don't have the correct privileges. When I try to access the page I need in order to change my settings - I get the error after putting in my "parents" account. So frustrating.
