I cannot open account properties.
Right-click on the account name in the folder pane:
Properties should be the last item on the context menu that opens:
If you don't see this, there is something very wrong with your installation.

Hi Mark
It seems that the original idea of repairing the Window Live is working. Except that I was not reminded to restart my computer after repairing, which I have done so afterwards.
Once again, repairing through the program itself is working and thanks for your help.
I have Window Live Mail installed in another computer. Its Quick Views does not work. Do you think I can repair that as well?

Hello, Mark,
I came to this forum yesterday, trying to find some information about why the Account > Properties button wouldn't work. I even tried calling my ISP tech support. They connected to my computer, and the tech rep repeatedly clicked on the Properties button, but to no avail. He suggested that I take the laptop to a local computer repair shop. That's not really an option for me -- I can't drive, and I have to depend on a 92-year old friend for occasional transportation.
In desperation, I uninstalled Windows Live Mail and the other programs in that suite. I downloaded a new version (2012 instead of 2011). I was so disappointed to find that the new software didn't work either. While I was fooling around with it, just randomly clicking on stuff, I stumbled upon a fix, which, granted, may work for me and for no one else.
I opened one of the email folders, then clicked Accounts and then Properties. The Properties menu opened right up. Merely for the purposes of verifying this behavior, and before posting here, I tried this remedy three times yesterday and twice today. For some reason, opening an email folder first activates the Properties button.
Again, this may not help anyone else, but it sure works for me. Thank you for being here!
Wes

Hi, I have the same problem with windows live mail as properties will not open even after I did the repair under programs. I started this process because my outgoing mail gets hung up in the outbox.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Dwight Donnelly
