Error" Video Card or Driver doesn't support separate alpha blend, glow will be disabled" while running COD4

When I run COD4 it says "Error during Initialization: Video Card or Driver doesn't support separate alpha blend, glow will be disabled"
Any idea why this happens?
There may be some setting in the COD options/preferences menu. Your best path is to ask in a COD support forum.
In the future (or now), before you buy a new game, visit
Can You Run It in order to see if your hardware supports the minimum requirements of the game.
