Well, here is my situation, I don't know if this applies to what is happening, but I have recently gotten a new video card(Sapphire Radeon HD 5770), this was due to my last video card starting to artifact, I believe that is what it is called when your screen gets random vertical lines across it of random colors. Anyways, everything works fine except my Media Player, VLC, however, I have tested it on other ones, such as Windows Media player to if it would work or got the same error. It did not work and did not give the same error. On VLC, the error I get goes like this, word for word, "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library", that is the tab, the actual message under it, which appears twice by the way, each time I try with the same message.
The message is
"This Application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual Way."
"Please Contact the application's support team for more information"
That's pretty much all I could on this particular issue. However, this was my last resort coming here since I thought I could fix it myself through the varies things I did, such reinstalling VLC, Reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.30319 as well as other failed attempts similar to these. However, the same exact problem occurred. I even did a system scan from the command prompt, syf/scannow, or something close to that. If you have ANY suggestions, please let me know.
Some other information that may be helpful to figuring out this problem,
- I have in fact re-downloaded the files (.mkv type).
- The version of windows I am using is Vista 32-bit.
I can't really think of anything else to add, but if you need more information on this problem, please let me know on here.
Thanks!
