MSVCR110_CLR0400.dll

Recently started getting an error message that MSVCR110_CLR0400.Dll was missing.  The lap top was new this past Christmas.  What do I need to do to get this file back?  Many of the apps quit working.

I believe this issue could be caused due to corrupted files you can try these steps and check:

 

To assist you better I would appreciate if you could answer the following question:

 

1)      What is the make and model number of the computer?

2)      Do you get any error message / code?

3)      Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

4)      Do you get the error message while performing the particular task?

 

I would suggest you to follow the troubleshooting step and check.

 

Method 1: Boot the computer in Safe Mode and check.

 

Step 1: Safe Mode

 

Boot the computer in Safe mode and check if the issue persists. Follow these steps to start the computer in safe mode.

Note: Restart the computer to start in normal mode.

 

Step 2: Perform Clean Boot.

 

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows 8 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Important: Reset the computer to start to normal startup.

Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to boot to normal startup.

a)      Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.

b)      In the ‘Run’ window type ’MSCONFIG’ and click ‘Ok’.

c)       On the ‘General’ tab, click the ‘Normal Startup’ option, and then click ‘OK’.

d)      When you are prompted to restart the computer, click ‘Restart’.

 

Method 2: Run a system file checker scan (SFC) and check.

 

Refer the following steps to run SFC scan:

 

a)      Move the mouse pointer to bottom left of the screen where you see preview of start menu and Right-click to bring up a list of Windows settings.

b)      Click on ‘Command Prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated command prompt. Note: Click ‘Yes’ if it prompts for permission.

c)       In the command prompt type in the following command: ‘sfc /scannow’.

 

Note: It may ask for windows installation DVD to fix and to enable SFC to make more than minor repairs. Some files saved on your computer might get deleted when fixing corrupted files.

I would suggest you to run the Apps troubleshooter (from the link).

 

If the problem still occurs, I would suggest you to open CMD in Admin mode and follow the steps and check,

 

a)      Press the ‘Windows + X’ key on the keyboard.

b)      Select Command Prompt (Admin).

c)       Type regsvr32 Msvcr110_clr0400.dll and press Enter.
