when using metro apps the computer displays a black background rather than a white one making text illegible

when using metro apps the computer displays a black background rather than a white one making text illegible

so basically I can't use any of the metro interface beyond the start screen

Anybody know of a solution:

Using
i7 processor
Nvidia 640m GPU
6gb Memory

Could this be a driver issue or is there an option to change it

Do you have FXAA enabled in the NVidia Control Panel? That was the problem for me.
If not, just click Restore in the Control Panel and it should fix the problem.
