Soundfrost Virus

Hi, thanks for looking at this question.

So over the past couple of days I have been experiencing some issues. It began on YouTube, where I would "like" a video, and then be immediately re-directed to a website named (I strongly suggest you do not visit the site I'm about to mention, as I believe it may give you a virus of some sort) "Soundfrost.org" (I believe that is what the site is called, however the main word is Soundfrost.) Anyway, at first I thought it was a YouTube advertisement and so left it be. I then began realising that a link to "Soundfrost" was being sneakily placed at the very bottom of many of my comment boxes and post boxes on various sites (Reddit, YouTube, Etc...) It was then I decided to search around and do some research. Various blogs have said that this is a Trojan virus that begins by doing the aforementioned symptoms, and then the virus becomes more dangerous by stealing Personal Information and Locking you out of your computer. I do not know if these blogs were legitimate however, as they all looked very similar in ways of layout, and even with the same pictures and images, the only difference were the names. So I have run scans with many softwares such as Malware-Bytes and Microsoft Security Essentials but both have come up empty handed, however my problem persists. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had ever encountered this virus before, or if anyone had some tips or advice of what my next options are.

Thank you.
P.S - If you require any information or specifications, please message or leave a reply, any way to get in touch really, and I will be happy to oblige.
Looks like its a redirect virus and uses java script to do its job

There seems to be a lot of sites that say how to remove it but you dont really know which ones are safe to click on

I would close all browsers for now. Get malwarebytes first. Disable system restore then update mbam. Then do a full scan

I had the same problem using Chrome browser (though I suspect that the issue may not have been browser brand specific).  I ran Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyWare and Avast virus scan and none made a difference.
I then scanned my C: drive for 'SOUNDFROST' text string and it appeared a half dozen times in various .../Google/.. folders.  Assuming it to be browser-based, I tried running IE accessing a forum reply box that in Chrome always had the text "URL=..SOUNDFROST.." inserted at the bottom (where it was usually below the visible box).  The IE text box was clean.  Ditto FireFox.  I uninstalled Chrome, reinstalled it from Google's site and it seems to be running clean.  I prefer Yahoo's  search engine and Chrome doesn't make it easy to set up, but all seems OK now.  I would be interested if anyone has a clue where the problem came from in the first place.  I have never linked to SOUNDFROST.  It seems to be true that more free software (I have a ton of it) then before attempts to install junkware.

Hi soundfrost infected by Trojan.Gen.2 discovered 2010 August

File infected - commonlauncher.exe.

Trojan.Gen.2 is a generic detection for many individual but varied Trojans for which specific definitions have not been created. A generic detection is used because it protects against many Trojans that share similar characteristics.

Payload: May open a back door or download other malware.

Easy to remove , I used Malwarebytes in safe mode .
