Can I upgrade Windows 7 tablet PC to Windows 8 OS?

Hello, can I upgrade Windows 7 tablet PC to Windows 8 OS?

And, please tell me which companies develope Tablet PCs. slates, planshets for Windows 7 and 8? because, I want to buy Windows Tablet PC, and want to know all models of tablets to choose "best one" for me.

And the last question:  Do all kinds and models of touch (Windows) tablets support pen writing and painting? I mean "Stylus" and special pen to paint by petty pointed pen like "Ball Point pen" and just penscil.

You may want to post again at the Windows Developer Preview: General OS questions forum.  I'm sure there are various individuals with more experience installing the OS on their tablet PCs and might be able to provide more insight to your question.

Hello, Levan,

 

Windows 8 preview requirements were:

 

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
  • Taking advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch
  • To run Metro style Apps, you need a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 or greater
