Windows 7 recycle bin mapped drives

When I delete files from a mapped drive they don't go to the recycle bin, but they do when deleted from the non-mapped C: drive. (Recycle bin properties are NOT set to remove files completely when deleted) This wasn't the case on XP. Is there a way to make it work like it used to?

Answer
In my experience, files deleted from a mapped network drive don't go into the Recycle Bin in any version of Windows.  I don't know of any setting that can change that in XP or Windows 7.  Do you remember how you configured XP to do that?
