Reset read-only status of a sub-folder of Program Files

I have just installed Windows 7 on a single user computer.  I need to reset the read-only status on one of the sub-folders ofProgram Files.  When I try to do this by right-clicking the folder, I get access denied.  What am I missing?

That makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to explain it. You should still be running as a Standard user unless that machine never goes onto the Internet. You can try running that program as administrator:
