Xbox Music Error 0xc00d11cd (0x8000ffff)

Starting today I'm getting the 0xc00d11cd (0x8000ffff)  Can't play error when streaming music using my Xbox Music Pass.

Happens when trying to stream/play any song.

I found this solution and it fixed the problems for me!

It may be due to your audio drivers not supporting the protected audio stream. If you’re like me and upgraded to Windows 8, you might find that there aren’t any newer sound card drivers available. Luckily, there’s an easy solution, assuming you’re comfortable with editing the registry:

  1. Open regedit and navigate toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Audio.
  2. Change the DisableProtectedAudioDG value from 1 to 0 and reboot.

Rebooting surface seems to have resolved this.
