"Blank" error message trying to open Outlook 2013

I purchased and installed Office 2013 Pro. After installing and rebooting my system I attempted to open Outlook. It begins to open then shows a "Blank" pop-up error (only an exclaimation point but no text). Clicking OK closes the error but no Office apps will open.  Nothing in any of the logs and no office programs will open

Answer

Hi,

As I understand you have installed Office 2013 program on the system but are unable to open any Office applications.

The issue might have occurred due to issues with installation files or due to add-ins. Follow the steps mentioned and check if it helps:

Step 1: Repair Office 2013 installation:

Refer to the link mentioned to repair Office 2013 installation:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/project-help/repair-or-remove-office-HA010357402.aspx

Step 2: Open Office applications in safe mode to check if add-ins are causing the conflict:

Refer to the link mentioned which explains how to open Office applications in safe mode and how to disable add-ins:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/why-cant-i-start-my-office-2013-application-HA104011864.aspx

Step 3: Boot the system in clean boot to check if any non-Microsoft programs are causing the conflict:

Refer the link mentioned below to boot the system in clean boot:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: If Office applications works fine in clean boot then follow the complete article to perform advanced clean boot to check which program is causing the issue. Ensure to boot the system in normal mode which is explained in the same article after checking in clean boot.

Once you have found the problem program causing the conflict, contact appropriate technical support team to update the program.

Step 4: Uninstall Office 2013 completely from the system and re-install it:

If the above steps do not fix the issue then uninstall Office 2013 program completely from the system and re-install it. Run the automated troubleshooter from the following article to remove all traces of the new Office installed on the system.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

Note: If you are using a 64-bit operating system, save the fixit tool on the system and then run it from the saved location.

Once the uninstallation is complete reboot the system and re-install Office 2013 program.

I hope the above suggestions helps. If you need any further assistance reply and we will be glad to assist you.

Thank you.
