I CAN'T OPEN ALL MY EXE FILES its says "D:\Windows\<exe file> ,The Archive is Either unknown format or damaged"

Can't open almost all of my application files...or exe files...it only says "D:\Windows\regedit, The archive is either uknown format or damaged" , "D:\Windows\regedit32, The archive is either uknown format or damaged" or any file i would open! please help..this starts when i downloaded a program and i open it with winrar...then my icons became all winrar icons...i don't know what to do please lend me ur advice! thank you very much i appreciate it! I use windows 7.

i tried anything i could and my last choice is to reformat but i hav important files here so any idea of fixing this without being format?

Ok, delete exe_fix_w7.reg, I have uploaded another registry file for you to try.  Download http://cid-302fc4a61ffc4465.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/W7exefix.zip and extract W7exefix.reg.  Copy it to your Desktop and doubleclick on it or rightclick on it to merge with your registry, reboot afterwards.  You will get a message saying the file was successfully added to your registry.  Reboot now.

If it wont merge, go to Start and type:

cmd.exe

in the Start Programs and Files box.  You will see cmd appear at the top of the Menu.  Rightclick on it and choose Run as Administrator.  Next copy and paste the below command after the prompt (where you see the cursor blinking and use your rightclick mouse functions to do this).

%userprofile%/Desktop/run.vbs

The script should run now and you should see a box where you can type regedit.  Your Registry Editor should open.  Go to File > Import and browse until you find W7exefix.reg and click on Open.  You should get a message to confirm the file merged with your registry.  Close your Registry Editor and reboot.
