You don't have sufficient permissions to view contents of this folder

After reinstalling Microsoft Office 2011 for mac due to a number of problems, i have everything working except Outlook. When i try and open the application a pop up says " You don't have sufficient permissions to view contents of this folder". When i look in my Documents / Microsoft User Data / Office 2011 Identies... my email identity is there and when i Get Info, it says i am able to Read and Write so i know that i have my permissions set accurately. Help would be very much appreciated at this point!! Thanks.

Try running Repair Permissions and check if this helps:

 

To use Repair Permissions:

 

1. Open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utility folder.

 

2. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair Permissions

 

3. Click on the icon for your boot volume.

 

4. Click the repair permissions button.
