Gamer Spotlight Ratio is Sexist

Okay, so every four or five games of multiplayer online, only one girl do I encounter in the lobby. Here on the forums.--Only one or two woman regulars. In real life... out of all my friends and family that play video games, only my gf and my best friend's girl play at all. As a man, I don't declare us men "own" the video game scene, I actually encourage woman to not typecast themselves as prissy housewalkers that hiss at technology. But nonetheless... women are in the minority of gamers. And woman gamers are largely casual at that. Nothing I can do about it. So why cast every other Gamer Spotlight a female gamer?? Is that some form of encouragement or applaud? I say if they were a bigger part of the populous, then it'd be appropriate. So what's the deal with that? Anyone know? Any opinions?

Girls FTW. No, but seriously, it's probably part of Microsoft's family friendly thing. They probably want parents to see that gamers are nice mature women instead of feral guys with genital black ops emblems and gamertags such as xXxQuickScopezzPWNxXx

I see it as more of people that have some website about games being there but it could just be a young guy picking them and always picking women or it could be advertisments for those websites.

The Gamer Spotlight is pathetic. You basically dont get interviewed unless you have a uniqe gamertag or own a website

They focus on women because they wanna encourage them to play more and feel like part of the community. It would be completely boring if it was just random dudes saying stuff like "Yeah I like BLOPS and I talk about it all day at school with my other male friends". Get a clue.

Male with some postion in a website.

Female

Female

PMS clan.

Male with website/milatary/Officer

[/quote]Guys or girls, this...^...is most of the reason why I stopped looking at it regularly.  When I was in, there were photos and a ton more questions.  Now, it's like the Readers Digest version.
