Certain arcade games not unlockable anymore

Seems I went back to Sonic 1 to try get my last achievement, noticed that the game needs to be unlocked or repurchased or w/e

So I went to look at the purchase thing which thankfully still showed that I had already bought it, seemed fine.

Here's where it becomes confusing, I redownload the 'bought' version according to my game, go onto 'play' as soon as it's sort of instant finished.

But that doesn't fix the problem. It's becoming a pain since its nearly 3am here, can't really phone at this time.

Anyway tried deleting the file, even redownloaded it from the download history/marketplace/in-game but no luck.

Also I now its not to do with license porting since I tested Doom from my old Xbox, I know for a fact Sonic 1 has worked on my newer Xbox S, had the new S since the release.

So anyone got a clue about this? also I'm not sure if this effects any other games but Sonic 1 was the 1st I noticed to have this problem.

If you never did a license transfer when you switched consoles, you probably will want to in case you're getting the same message on other games. Otherwise, I found this on the old forums:

It's a known problem on the Sega titles. At least, the older ones - including Golden Axe. If you don't want to (or can't - maybe you already did it in the past year) transfer the license, you can do the following:

1) Launch the game (using the account which purchased the game).

2) From the in-game menu, choose "unlock full game" (might be slightly different wording).

3) That should bring up a box from the marketplace.

4) It should know that you bought it, and ask if you just want to re-download.

5) Choose "yes".

6) After a few seconds, it should give you a "download complete" - all it did was get a new "key."

7) I think you choose "continue" at that point.  In any case, all you want to do is get out of the blue Marketplace box.  You do NOT want to exit the entire game.

8) Once you're back at the game's menu, it should allow you to play the full game.

yeo seems @smwutches is correct. I did that, it works so it seems like a bug.
