American to UK disc play

Hello i wanted to check with other people about this thing but i had fallout3 for my xbox and it broke so my american friend said he would send me his fallout3 and im curious to know would i get banned for playing an american game store disc on a UK sold xbox console as im currently in the uk and i dont want to get banned for something so silly could anyone answer this please, and thanks to people who take time to look at this thread.

US and EU games are different formats (NTSC & PAL respectively) Shocka, so unless the game is region free it will not work here in the UK.

But if it did work I can see no reason why you would get banned, if the disc is a legitimate copy.

So according to wiki the NTSC/U version will work on a PAL console OP.
You should be good to go.:)

PAL and NTSC are display technologies and are a separate issue to region locking, you'd need to have very old equipment for it to be unable to handle both types of signals.

Not only is wikipedia a decent source to find out if a game is region free or not but a site called http://www.Play-Asia.com also mentions if a game is capable of running on different region consoles, though usually after release.
